At any rate Eve is a subscribtion based MMO much like World of Warcraft, Old Republic, Star trek online, Lord of the Rings online. They work the way you pay for game time, and how much of the game time that you use is entirely up to yourself and the server gods.
For a while Eve have had a payment plan where you pay your game time with money from the game, the setup is rather complex in details but fairly simple when you just use it. In the game you can buy something called a PLEX and it's sold via the auctionhouse, market you know.. And if I recall correctly it's sold by other players.
On the other side you can buy a PLEX for your account and either put it on the market inside the game or use it to extend your game time (by a month).
Loads of people do this as the price of a plex is relatively small if you are well equipped, know your stuff, and perform well.
Sooo?
Well for a while I've been thinking about this system and to utillize it. Normally you'd earn big money doing the market (as in the real world), but that both takes time, and skill. I have neither. Another option that is common is to "farm" which in theory should be easy and make you loads of cash.
I've never ventured that path having principles and stuff. Plus my first attempts at it ended badly.
Now I've setup a fully fresh toon, launched it into the game with focus to just earn enough cash to buy his first PLEX and maintain that account active for that purpose alone. Also I want to be able to show others that this can actually be done.
Before creation My mind went to Battleships and Level 4 missions, this isn't realistic, but it gave me a startingpoint. I'll proberbly have to sponsor the first PLEX via Cash, which is okay. But from there things need to start moving.
First I checked out PLEX prices it was in the 300 millions, Last I checked it was in the 500's.
When it's time to get the first it'll be interresting to see the price. Also 500 is quite a lot for my casual playstyle. On the other side a plex is worth one monthly sub, which I believe is 15€ or $ I don't really know I just pay up.
I'll be happy to get advises, and I'll keep progress blogged. Next step will be Skill plan refinement.
And.... As with everything else in Eve if you wait your informations grows old (very quickly).
I started writing this blog yesterday, and saved it to do some spellchecking ect before publish.
During the nigth I've been around a Vexor setup, refined it into a Thorax and changed my home network... Stuff happens....
At anyrate the skill plan refinement I was thinking about was based on using drones (Vexor), and sorry can't link one yet, CCP's building stuff, but using Drones as main DPS running missions. I'm fairly known with the Armor setup soo. Then I start realising that my usual just max it out, will really not work here. Level 4 drones will basicly take 3-4 days which is quite a lot in a 21 days timespand. Same goes with anything level 4. The time is really more importent then the extra % points.
Also this means that T2 stuff isn't just something you preffer to use. It's something you relish the use of.
